Lady T and I have arrived already, looking forward to this match. I've been telling Wiamea and Earp I would be at this match someday. Well, looks like someday finely arrived.

No, No, No, No. Plan to enjoy this match too much to crank up the gas powered blinder. Sounds too much like a weed-eater to me.

What can one say to THIS load of horse pucky?

I am looking forward to seeking out the subdued crowd of which you speak.

I think they exist within the realm of Unicorns and Fairy Tales.

In fact I may have seen a Unicorn or two running through the parking lot last year.

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeey! Last year you and I agreed we had done enough damage at the "Old and Smelly on the Green" and needed a new place to abuse

The Best Western seems like a good place to call "Rock Ridge" ;)

Got signed in today and walked the range.  It Looks Fantastic!  And the stages look like a lot of fun too.  Everyone involved should be proud of their efforts.  I can hardly wait until tomorrow!

P. S.  I wish I had 10% of the artistic talent of the folks who made those props.  Every time I try to make a prop that looks like a person, the folks around me just bury it!:P

Maybe next year!   Actually the weather here is kind of cold (at least according to the natives!). It's 49 outside right now and it's only supposed to hit 72 tomorrow.  These poor folks are Freezing!

We are scheduled to be back to the frozen north late Monday night and, to be honest, I am not sure I am looking forward to it.  I am hoping we get a little bit of melting up there before we arrive, but in reality, I suspect my Prius looks a lot like this car at the moment.  :P

Well I picked up my Ides of March packet yesterday, and read the stages carefully last evening,. I planned how to attack each of the first 5 with military precision. I was ready.

I went to bed last night and couldn't sleep. The anticipation kept me awake. It reminds me of when I was a kid at Christmas. I don't start until noon. Maybe I can get a little sleep the next couple of hours.

I know what is going to happen.  The same as always. Between the anticipation and lack of sleep when the TO says "shooter ready" I will forget all the careful planning. I will be lucky to remember the senario. I will be 10 again playing cowboy with Hoppy and Roy. That is why I shoot cowboy. For 30 seconds more or less 5 times today and 5 times tomorrow I will be 10 years old again. Cowboy shooting is my time machine.

Halfway through the shoot and it is as good as I had always heard. These guys know how to make a shoot run smoothly and some great stages already, Hate we only have one more day of shooting.

:lol:These boys know how to put the action into cowboy action shooting.

Sitting back here at the camper enjoying an adult beverage. Wow, what an outstanding match. Great stages, lots of props (and trees) to shoot through, around and over. Great sequences and stage writing. Can't say enough positive about this match. We'll be back.

What a Match!!!

How about this for first shots on Stage 3.

Story Line.

Billy the Kid is loose in the jail where he finds Deputy Bob's double barrel shotgun loaded with dimes. He breaks out the window and says "Goodbye Bob, best $1.80 I ever spent"

Procedure: Begin at jailhouse window with Shotgun in hands.

(wall with 18"X 24" window COVERED with brown paper with 2 SG KDs (3' high IPSC Poppers) 10' directly behind window)I

Line: "Goodbye Bob"

ATB:

Shoot the 2 KDs THROUGH the window covered with brown paper, then etc., etc., etc!!!!!!!

What a HOOT!!!

And the other 9 Stages were equally fun, different and challenging.

Congrats to the Ides Committee,

Amarillo Rattler

All I've got left to say is WOW, What A Match!  Everyone involved with this match should be proud of their efforts because, at least from a shooters perspective, it was absolutely flawless.

The only criticism I have, is that the dang match is 882 miles from home!  But that won't stop us from coming back next year.  First thing we are doing when we get home is scheduling time off for 2018!

Congratulations to all the winners and I am looking forward to the top gun shoot off tomorrow.  Is should be AWESOME!

Rattler,

Were those SG KD's only 10'  (10 feet) away?      Wow, thats close.

..........Widder

Not measured, could have been 10 yds. The size made them seem close.
