Non sass question what powder to use in 300 black out

Recommended Posts

I really like shooting the Remington 220 gr 300blackout subsonic ammo. I been having problems finding it locally and are getting enough empty brass laying around that I need to start reloading it. At one time I had the data for that load but I can't find it right now and remember the powder was a commercial blend so I would have to find something else to use in its place. That the question what are you guys using for powder in you subsonic 220. Gn ammo?

I think Hodgdon just came out with a powder, aimed at loading that round. https://www.google.com/amp/www.ammoland.com/2016/11/introducing-new-cfe-blk-from-hodgdon/amp/?client=ms-android-motorola

No experience with it personally, but may give it a look?

Try IMR 4227 works for both subsonic and supersonic or H110 works best for supersonic

been experimenting my ownself, here is what I have come up with

imr4227-good for supersonic, less velocity than others

h110-generally good

1680-excellent for heavier bullets-150 and up, including subsonic

lil-gun-generally good

according to the book the last two generate less pressure, most of my load development has been with the last three and in pistol ar

haven't tried the cfe 300 blk yet

From reading many posts on various websites, I selected Accurate 1680 because had all positive comments for subsonic 300 Blackout.
