Pit Bull Tex Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 I would like to thank all the cowboys that helped me get started reloading 44-40.From the press and the dies to brass to bullets.I was going to pat my self on the back but it hurt my arm and it was the info that I got from the cowboys.I just loaded some 44-40 for the very first time.I did mess up the first case.I loaded 24 more rounds and did not mess up any more.I load 12 rounds with .430 bullets and 12 rounds with .428 bullets. Will see what shoots the best in my rossi.I am proud of my self that I did not mess up but one case. Thanks again. Reuben McCoy Rankin # 34239 Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 Good on you. I've been loading 44-40 for 15 years. Don't remember crushing a case, till last week, bought 100 new starline cases. In the process of loading managed to crush 20 of them. Stopped several times and checked dies and cleaned dies still can't figure out what happened. Only the new ones were damaged. Quote
