The Original Lumpy Gritz Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 Nicely done. Who was the singer. Also, at about the 58 second mark, says 'you'll need 3 guns'. OLG Quote
Cemetery Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 I always thought the theme song for They Call Him Cemetery would make a good SASS song, but that's just me, and I'm biased towards it obviously... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIcQ7E0b4bw Quote
Allie Mo, SASS No. 25217 Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 it! Also, Frederick Jackson Turner has written a song, I love, about SASS for his group Big Red Sky. It is really funny as it has parts about the excuses for misses and Ps. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name and didn't find it using Google.. Can someone help me with a link? Regards, Allie Quote

A couple of years ago, we had a costume day where I work. I wore my SASS duds. They said anyone who was brave enough to pick up the microphone and sing would get a free lunch. Larsen E. Pettifogger, SASS #32933 Posted January 16, 2017 Author Posted January 16, 2017 Pretty Cool Larsen I like it, where did you find it? It is one of those weird cyberspace things. I listen to music every night when I go to bed. This song came up a couple of weeks ago and I wondered how the heck it got on my IPod. I checked and it is on my ITunes song list. So it got downloaded from ITunes to my IPod. How it got there I am not sure. Must be something to do with the cloud or Russian hacking. At any rate, it is a nice tune and I thought you all might enjoy it. Quote
Faygo Kid, SASS # 26408 Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 I think Wallaby Jack is right......I have the CD some where. I'll have to look in the truck or RV....Thanks for posting Larsen.......Faygo Quote

Rev Willy Dunkum, SASS # 61027 Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 Love it! I agree should be our theme song. Allie, I had Frederick Jackson Turner's CD and must have loaned it and not got it back. I can't remember the name either but is a good one! Quote
Marauder SASS #13056 Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 Thanks, Larsen. Yes, in spite of the Chisler's chiseling ways, Jim Bowman did that song for us. Unfortunately Jim never got the credit and recognition he deserved. But tis a great song! Quote
Del Rio Pete Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 Great job! I like it. Good tune and nice voice. Thanks. Quote
Griff Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 Thanks, Larsen. Yes, in spite of the Chisler's chiseling ways, Jim Bowman did that song for us. Unfortunately Jim never got the credit and recognition he deserved. But tis a great song! Yep, & IIRC, at the time we did only use 3 guns. But, I have to chuckle about the chorus! "...the history of the west is perhaps remembered best..." Quote

Red Cent Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 Had the privilege to listen to that song and watch Joe Bowman twirl the six guns at a few state championships and above. My era was 2000-2007. Grand old fella. Quote
