Lol! No Army Captain would abreviate Captain with "Capt" instead of the proper CPT, nor would any member of the 82nd spell Airborne with two words.

Are you sure?

I can see my father, when typing AN OFFICIAL NAVY DOCUMENT, IN ALL CAPS, using ADCS, but if writing to a civilian, saying, "I am a Senior Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy...".

But then, Daddy did seem to be able to separate his job (the Navy) from his life (wife and kids).

Capt. is the Commonwealth military way of abbreviating the word Captain.

It is not the US Army way.

CPT

I realize that Bob, just suggesting that he may not be an American by virtue of the spelling. Can't be a Canadian though, as we also spell Airborne as one word. Probably someone with an unpronounceable name.
