I am wondering if anyone has seen or shot one of Cowboy Bob's reworked springfield rifles.

 

I read an article about them in True West Magazine Nov- Dec 2010 issue. I know it is 6yrs old. Read it a couple months ago.

 

He makes them like an old Whitney Arms Company.

 

With a new Green River octagon barrel.

 

Article said he makes them in 45-70 40-70 and 50-70.

 

Sounds interesting I would like one in 40-70.

Do you have any more info on what Cowboy Bob's business info might be? I cannot find it anywhere.

He is a knife maker by trade . He owns and operates Cowboy Bob's in Whitefish Montana.

 

He is a True West Best Knifemaker Winner.

 

He will furnish the Springfield Trapdoor or you can send him yours.

Especially with a octagon barrel and( pewter fore end). Optional of course .
