Just saw a new Western

well new to me... "In A Valley of Violence" (2016)

It hits just about every western cliche, but Ethan Hawke and John Travolta look like that had fun doin' it, just chewin' up the screen.

It has the feel of a Spaghetti Western. Interesting assortment of guns, just a few Colt Peacemakers, not a single '92 or '94 in sight!

Good to see that we've had a long string of Westerns the past couple of years. Keep 'em comin'!

Howdy,

Well I just watched Stagecoach.

Not a half bad western,

It was a little hard to follow how time was passing.

And a flintlock?? Really?

Best

CR

oh and I liked it.

Stagecoach 1938, 1986, or 2016?

I suppose "mew would mean 2016, but "new to me" could be any of them.

Saw it the other night, Netfix. Liked it. Ethan Hawke was great. "Dog do any tricks". "He bites". Loved that.

Just watched it. Not bad. A little bit spaghetti western, a little John Wick. The dog's blanket trick was great. Not very often do you see a McLellan saddle in a movie, even less it being mentioned in the dialogue.

Or a springfield trapdoor, and mentioned. The one problem I had with the movie was trying to figure out what the economy of the town was. There were around 8 people living there, one being the sheriff and 4 being his son and posse. Who pays their salaries? If local taxes, then where does that money come from? Sorry, but I am part economist so it's a tough detail to overlook. Otherwise a fun movie.
