Unless I missed it, You can add 'Debbie Reynolds' to your list, who passed away Dec 28th.

Remember 'Tammy'?

She is the Mother of Carrie Fisher (who passed away the day before)

In perspective: In 1918 the flu pandemic killed an estimated 100 million people, 5 % of the world's population at the time!

We also lost Greg Lake of Emerson Lake and Palmer. These were the guys who pioneered synthesized music. They brought the Moog Synthesizer to music in the late sixties, setting the stage for some of the best, AND worst, musical efforts of our time.

ELP's work was always tasteful and their live shows were singularly entertaining!!

Let's not forget:

So many LEO deaths that we nearly became numbed to it;

A political climate so toxic and corrupt that two candidates who had higher negative than positive numbers emerged for the presidency;

A level of divisiveness among groups in our nation so bad and so prevalent it actually makes me begin to wonder about conspiracy theories.

I could go on, but then I start veering strongly toward the political.

I hope 2017 is better. Any worse and we had better start watching for asteroids.

Pilot extraordinare Bob Hoover, BGEN Jimmy Doolittle called Hoover, "The best stick and rudder pilot I ever saw!"

Astronaut/Senator John Glenn. First American to orbit the Earth; oldest person to orbit the Earth at age 77; U.S. Senator from Ohio for 25 years; a true gentleman.

My paternal grandfather died of the Spanish flu in 1918 in the Stony Mountain Penitentiary in Manitoba and, he wasn't a correction officer, if you know what I mean.

Plenty of good people died. Including friends of mine. But they weren't "celebrities".

I suspect next year will be the same.

You are absolutely right, Bob. It just seems this particular year has been bad on so many levels.

You do quite a good job of that, and keeping a level head. It is much appreciated.

When I'm heading to the last roundup I hope they put a half full glass next to the bed.

Can't decide if it should be Tequila or Bourbon though. ;)

Let's hope you have many years of both before that happens.
