I can't stand bourbons. Have done side by side sampling and IMHO, bourbons are only fit to use as cleaning solvents.

My feelings exactly BUT investigate Basil Hayden. It might change your mind.

Get thee to a bar for a sample; no accounting for individual tastes.

Sound advice here!

Works for new shooters starting cowboy action shooting, it's just as valid in selectin' your sippin' likker!

I see a Crown Royal Rye in Christmas present displays. Is it any good? Remember I am an Irish drinker.

My wife got a handful of empty Crown Royal cloth sacks at a yard sale.

They seem to be favored as empty brass bags.

They make striking quilts as well.

I'll second Glenllivit real smooth scotch. Never could like Burbon it is too sweet for my taste.

I once thought Glenlivit was smooth also. Then we went to the GlenDronach distillery and I gained a real appreciation for quality Scotch. Cask Strength is superb. GlenDronach is now my only birand.

Glenlivet? Yuck......

Lagavulin is my elixir.

You boys... arguin' over them rich-labeled deals.

When I drank... and I... used to drink ever now and then... somewhat... (you can ask Ms. Ali Mo... hehehe)....

Always drank my Uncle Elwood's No. 4... a sourmash utopian medicinal potion... and a genuine, double-rectified... pop-skull... aged in a plastic jug. Aged for over a month.

Oh heck... wished I could drink some now... but that ain't in the cards.

Also partial to Maker's Mark... sent to me by a fella SASS shooter from Wyoming... long ago, he sent me a case of it with my name on it, just before he died... Gunny Sackett. Never was sure why he sent it to me... but I got it after he passed.

Noz,

If you like Irish then Red Breast is really good. If you want rye, try Old Protrero. If it is bourbon then give Clyde Mays at go.

Angles Envy, Knob Creek, and Michter's are all excellent Bourbons. I love most all single Malt Scotches. especially McCallens 15 year old! Cheers, Hoss C.

When it comes to rye, I still like Old Overholt, aka "Old Overcoat".
