saw in a pawn shop today a S & W model 66 4 inch barrel the stainless finish had some minor scuff and scratches but otherwise in good condition and grips are like new. does not look like it was fired much. they wanted 799. i felt sure that was too high then he said 599. how much are they usually worth, no box etc?

if there is no cylnder shake and the lockup is good hammer trigger cylender operates smouthly barrel is clean i would go probably as high as 500. other than the 686 these are the best revolvers made by S&W. i have both and also been to the s&w armorer schools. my price would be out the door

Prices range widely on such guns based on condition, tightness, round vs. Square butt, etc.

A plain 66, 4" barrel, safety-lock could sell around here for $450.

A 2.5" or 6" barrel, LNIB, pre-lock might go in the $800 range.
