? about a Dillon advertisement

Recommended Posts

Reference: Dillon January 2017, page 54

The advertisement for Gunslinger Spring Kits list a 'premier cowboy gunsmith' with the name of Lee Fisher.

What is or WHO IS the cowboy name of Lee Fisher?

I wish Dillon had also listed the cowboy name.

Thanks

That's Rowdy Yates. He works out of Lee's, or did until recently.

That's what I was thinking and they've been around forever.

Lee Fisher was owner of Lee's Gunsmithing.

Lee Fisher aka "Ringo" SASS.

Lee Fisher produced and sold the Gunslinger Spring Kits

Lee sold his business to good friend Ross Seymour.

Ross Seymour aka "Rowdy Yates" SASS #141

Ross kept the same store Lees occupied for some time.

Ross closed the store and continued working from his home shop.

Ross also continues the production of the Gunslinger Spring Kits.

I am not sure if Ross has given up his FFL Gunsmith license.

Ross has always been a Black Powder shooter and prefers to work on cap and ball revolves.

If you want to know if he will work on your guns, call him.

He does answer his phone.

Not so much his e-mail.

So, based on the info above, Dillon is selling those Gunslinger springs using an advertising name of Lee Fisher, which is Ringo..... although Rowdy Yates owns (or did own) the company.

Tha advertisement actually reads:

Gunslinger Spring Kits

From Lee Fisher, one of the premier "cowboy gunsmiths".

Is that ad referencing Ringo or Rowdy?

Lee Fisher designed and made the original Gunslinger Spring kits.

Lee named the kits.

Rowdy Yates owns the business now and he is still making the same kits and keeping Lee's name on them.

Ringo's spring kits, made and sold by Rowdy Yates. (Lee's Gunsmithing)
