I opened the Wickpedia thing about it and it says Imageshack is a subscription site. Did you find this to be the case? I too would like to find something to replace Photobucket. So far it's free, but I think imageshack will require me to pay after the 30 trial. So, I don't know if it's always free or not. I signed up using their sign on button, then they'll ask you for your email and you activate your account through the email response.
