Red Gauntlet , SASS 60619 Posted November 30, 2016 Share Posted November 30, 2016 The Russians have a pretty good Nordic pedigree at their origins, with Kieven Rus, Rurik, etc. The Varangians, as the "Vikings" are often called who went down the eastern European river systems, while their brethren were raiding Britain and the Atlantic coasts, have a great history. They formed the Imperial Guard in Constantinople in certain eras, and Hagia Sophia in Constantinople (Istanbul) has some 9th or 10th century Nordic graffiti in it....
