I hae about 40 minutes of 8mm film I took in Vietnam. I suspect it will eventually just deteriorate

You should have it digitized. Contrary to what some people thought, that was a major chapter in history.

Never found any affordable way.

I've got 16mm silent film I took of rockets and six of the seven Project Mercury astronauts in 1961 at Cape Canaveral and environs. I've had it converted to DVD, but it has come out quite dark. If I can find somebody that can enhance the images, I'd like to have it lightened up. Would also like to put some narrative in with the silent images.
