Oklahoma Dee
You might try bending the barrel. The Single Action Services located Houston, Texas can do it. Alan Harton has taken a number of my SAA type revolvers and using a press, in the field, at the range, he can get your revolver with your loads to where you want the POI. The slight flexing and pressure on any length barrel from 4" to 14" in length, can be done with no damage to the barrel. He is a premier restoration Colt and Ruger specialist. Call him and chat with him. One of the great ones. OkDee
Larsen E. Pettifogger, SASS #32933
There is only about fifty thousands of an inch of the sight stuck into the barrel. In the photo if you look at the right hand side of this Ruger front sight you can see a faint line. That marks the top edge of the barrel groove. Bending does sometimes work but there is always the chance of fracturing the solder joint. Bending the top of the sight puts an awful lot of torque on the portion in the barrel. Rancho Roy
I've heard of regulating the barrels of a double rifle by reaming/filing the muzzle to "throw" the bullet to one side or the other. Might be an option that has no effect on appearance of the revolver.
Creek County Kid
We make replacements for stock sights on any single action revolver at the gun shop which would fix this current situation if I have read everything correctly where you wouldn't have to turn the barrel it replaces the stock sight whether bent or manufactured incorrectly from Ruger or any other manufacturer. The brass front sight option seems very popular, especially with blued guns. CCK and Snake Oil to great work. Boomstick Jay did this option on Sassy's revolvers and she (and I) really like the mod. With wider front installed, back channel can be opened to match and in so doing correct your windage problem (if installation itself does not fix).. I had no idea on how much of the site is actually in the barrel. Not much for sure....
