Rye Miles #13621 Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Yea, look at the one on Hell on Wheels!!!
Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172 Posted September 3, 2016 Author Posted September 3, 2016 Looks like the Cards are flirting with giving the lead to Cincinnati tonight. Bottom of the 7th, bases loaded and one out. Not that it really matters.
Shawnee McGrutt Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Red Sox are tied again for first in AL East.
Rye Miles #13621 Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Tribe is 5 1/2 games ahead now!! Last night they spanked the heck out of Marlins ace, Jose Fernandez!!!! These boys can hit!!! GO TRIBE!!!!
Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172 Posted September 4, 2016 Author Posted September 4, 2016 Well, it seems to be shaking out that the only two divisions that leave questions, are the American League East, and the National League West. The Cardinals will be sitting at home, on the sofa, watching the World Series on the Big Screen, with a cold libation and some chips and dip. Ah, well, maybe next year.
Shawnee McGrutt Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 0-1...A's walk off floppers drop one...there is always tomorrow!
Rye Miles #13621 Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 TRIBE WINS IN THE 9TH!!! SWEEPS THE MARLINS!!! I'M TELLIN YA FOLKS THESE GUYS ARE AWESOME!!! GO TRIBE!!!
Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984 Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 'bout 26 games to go for each team . . .
Shawnee McGrutt Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Well it is tomorrow...Sox play the Padres. Guess the Padres are cool right now...hope they don't get hot on Boston. 26 games, that is still a lot of games.
Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172 Posted September 5, 2016 Author Posted September 5, 2016 Well it is tomorrow...Sox play the Padres. Guess the Padres are cool right now...hope they don't get hot on Boston. 26 games, that is still a lot of games. Not if you are 16.5 games out of first place in the division. Well, Toranto dropped one today. And the Bosox are tied up with the Padres at 0/0 in the 4th. Exciting, ain't it.
Shawnee McGrutt Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Padres are up 2-0 Yankees are making a come back, I figured they would do something to upset me.
Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172 Posted September 5, 2016 Author Posted September 5, 2016 How could you be upset with the Yankees?
Shawnee McGrutt Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 It is soooooo easy. I hate pin stripes!
Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172 Posted September 7, 2016 Author Posted September 7, 2016 Well, according to this morning posting, looks like Toronto and Bean Town are tied for #1 in the American League East. Who will blink first?
Rye Miles #13621 Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Well, according to this morning posting, looks like Toronto and Bean Town are tied for #1 in the American League East. Who will blink first? Tight tight race!!!
Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172 Posted September 8, 2016 Author Posted September 8, 2016 Toronto seems to have an edge, but about the time I say that, along come the dirty soxs and upset the apple cart.
Shawnee McGrutt Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Sox are leading the AL East this morning, but have a series in Toronto. Time will tell. Dirty soxs??? Talk like that, could get a person, tarred and feathered! Speaking of feathers, are the Cards golfing yet?
Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984 Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 All Sox games remaining are again the AL East, two series with the stripes, two Orioles one plus a home game with the Jays, and one with the Rays.
Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172 Posted September 8, 2016 Author Posted September 8, 2016 Sox are leading the AL East this morning, but have a series in Toronto. Time will tell. Dirty soxs??? Talk like that, could get a person, tarred and feathered! Speaking of feathers, are the Cards golfing yet? They had to give up golf. They carried over their bad habits from baseball and couldn't hit the ball. So many mulligans were not allowed. Actually, as things stand now, they have a good shot at being a wild card. The way they have played this year, that may not mean much.
Shawnee McGrutt Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Yankees, are only 4 1/2 games out of AL east & only 2 1/2 out of the wild card. The al east is wide open. Might be hard for the Rays, but they play tuff in the division. At least no more west coast games, 10 PM I am counting sheep. (cows jumping a fence, is just utter destruction)
Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172 Posted September 9, 2016 Author Posted September 9, 2016 Well, bright spot is that the soxs are in first place for a little while. If they can parlay that into the end of September, they can play for all the marbles.
Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172 Posted September 9, 2016 Author Posted September 9, 2016 Well, the Cards managed to knock themselves out of the second sport for a wild card. Don't know what is wrong with those boys, but I think they need a wake up slap up side of the haid. Toranto and Boston go at it tonight. Close race, that.
Rye Miles #13621 Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 Tribe is #1 and now 6 games ahead of Detroit!!!
Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984 Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 Sox-Jays 13 -3 IIRC and if they pull it off, the sox might be the first team to have gone from worst to first to worst to first.
Shawnee McGrutt Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 Rick Porcello, got his 20th win last night. He has pitched every game into the seventh, except one, was an out short. A Cy Young award?
Rye Miles #13621 Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 http://www.cleveland.com/tribe/index.ssf/2016/09/cleveland_indians_minnesota_tw_110.html Napoli crushes one for the win!!! Party at Napoli's!!!
Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172 Posted September 10, 2016 Author Posted September 10, 2016 And all I get is stale beer and salty peanuts.
Shawnee McGrutt Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 And all I get is stale beer and salty peanuts. Sounds like my last inflight snack. BUT, do I hate those one run loses!!!!
Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172 Posted September 11, 2016 Author Posted September 11, 2016 And I thought the soxs had that one iced. I guess Yogi was correct," it ain't over till it is over. "
Shawnee McGrutt Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Any of these teams, (N.L. & A.L.), can come back and take a win away. No matter what place they are in. I have not counted Tampa Bay out of the mix. They can ruin your season, and make you pack your locker early. I wouldn't count the other team out even with a 7 run lead. All these players are good at the game and are driven. Friday's night win surprised me, thought it would have been a lot tighter. Figure both Sox & Jays are about equal. My beloved Floppers can't lose to many more, they need to pick up their game and begin steam rolling, over their division.
Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172 Posted September 11, 2016 Author Posted September 11, 2016 Steam roller may not be the best description. A lot of teams run out of STEAM late in the season. Maybe they start thinking of the cold beer and popcorn while the watch the world series on the big screen.
Shawnee McGrutt Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Popcorn and cold beer are running through my mind come spring training.
Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172 Posted September 11, 2016 Author Posted September 11, 2016 You optimist !
Rye Miles #13621 Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 CAVS WON THE NBA CHAMPIONSHIP!!!! THE INDIANS ARE THE NEXT CLEVELAND TEAM TO WIN!!! TRIBE WILL WIN THE WORLD SERIES 2016!!! NOT THE BROWNS THOUGH
Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172 Posted September 11, 2016 Author Posted September 11, 2016 What are they putting in the water in Cleveland?
