Johnny Dollar
Asking because I wanted to know if these are just regular uberti cattleman 1873 with extra stamping in the frame and grip panel. It seems to be the old model? Also would this model have the plunger and spring assembly for the hand or the original style hand spring? Anyway a local guy has one for sale at a fair price. I've been thinking about getting a pair of 1873 with 7 1/2 barrels. But then I'd need a mate for it.... Thanks! -JD
blazeafar SASS # 6750
It should have the screw holding the cylinder pin in place and bulls eye ejector rod head.
Tex Jones, SASS 2263
I had a U.S.V. 51/2" and that one was an old model and had the original style hand spring. It's my understanding that the "Custer Colts" are of the same design. Cimarron lists the 7th Cavalry model, which is a fairly close copy of the original. Don't know what price the one you're looking at is going for but if in good shape $400-450 is reasonable. Yes, two are better than one.
Abilene, SASS # 27489
If it is a Cimarron and was made within the past 15 years it should have the coil hand spring.
