Griff
I've never found any need to trim pistol cases. Bottleneck rifle cases, yes... but shoot so few of them (except .223), that need is non-existent.
Colt Walker 45
Calibers like .223 would need trimming, but most cowboy calibers do not. If you are using theRT 1500 do not size the case first, this will cause chatter. Do the trim and re-size at the same time.
Doc Tombstone, SASS #49630
As a varmint shooter I generate a lot of brass that needs trimmed and I have tried most of them, the Dillon and Little Crow are probably my favorites for high volume trimming, by the way you don't need to trim straight wall pistol cases unless you are extremely anal about crimping them in the exact same spot on the bullet. Matthew Duncan
Has any using the Dillon electric case trimmer {RT 1500 } and what do you think? thank You Gunrunner Joe Love it! A WHOLE lot better then the hand trimer I WAS using. I'm using a 650 and a spare tool head. Clean & lubed 5.56 brass goes in the hopper. Turn on the vacuum and trimmer. Start pulling the lever. Doc Tombstone, SASS #49630
I suppose its possible on a progressive press but can't imagine trying to set all that up at the same time, the trimmer motor is alot fatter than a die. Also swaging is only needed once for military style crimped primers
