Ok, From what I can find out. The shooter knocked off his shotgun from the table open and empty. It broke the 170. What's the call, SDQ or MDQ.

We' call a SDQ.

What about sweeping everyone when breaking the 170. They gave him a MDQ, but I change it to a SDQ, but I want to make sure that is the right call,

If it swept folks as it fell, empty gun = SDQ; loaded gun = MDQ

Simultaneous SDQ violations (a single action) are not "stacked up".

Another example would be sweeping someone while breaking the 170 with an unloaded firearm = one SDQ.

REF RO1 p.21

Committing two (or more) Stage DQ infractions will result in a Match DQ (even on the same stage). This does NOT apply to a single action that carries multiple penalties (e.g. breaking the 170º with an unloaded firearm AND simultaneously sweeping someone). There are circumstances where a single Major Safety violation will result in a Match Disqualification. (See Addendum for listing of penalties.)
