Trigger Mike Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 what is the value of an old model ruger 45lc with the finish partially scrubbed off to age down to 70% ?
Cheyenne Ranger, 48747L Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 It's whatever the market will pay for it. I think it's a bit high but I already have my pair. some folks will pay that if that's what they really want. cr
Chili Ron Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Howdy, take a look over on GB FINISHED auctions. The more common the item, the more accurate the pricing. ymmv. Best CR
Badlands Bob #61228 Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 The going rate for a stock "Old" model Vaquero is about $400 - $450 around these parts. Some ask more but few get it.
Bramble Mountain Buzzard Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Old Model Blackhawk or New Model Original Vaquero??? If you are talking Vaquero, it's at least $100 high. Personally, not sure I'd give $375 for something that common that's in the 70% range.
No Horse Hair, SASS #77464 Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 Trigger Mike, I've got 2 for sale, way better than 70%. If you are interested PM me.
Cheyenne Ranger, 48747L Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 for me the scrubbing down really lowers the value but that's me cr
Trigger Mike Posted May 20, 2016 Author Posted May 20, 2016 No Horse Hair not really wanting one just always look for good bargains but passed
Major E A Sterner #12916 Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 If this is a 3 screw Blackhawk .45 Colt then it would be a steal(If all original lockwork parts are there),The parts alone are worth more than the asking price. If it's an original Vaquero then it's too much
Throckmorton,23149 Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 wow. Internal parts are now over 500 bucks ? Lord help us all. I just saw one that looked real good with asking price of 775.00,so he just might get the price he's asking.
Bramble Mountain Buzzard Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 No, the internal parts are not worth $500. He's saying that parting out a complete 3 Screw 45 would be worth $500...
Fred Rhinestone, SASS #24833 Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 My two cents, ya can't kill a Ruger, any model, if you do, send it back to Ruger and they will repair for a modest price. Love the folks at Ruger, they have always treated me and my firearms Royally.
Major E A Sterner #12916 Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 The lock work parts are going for $160-175,Cylinder $100-125,Grip frame $75-100,Grips $50-60,Barrel $100-125,receiver $125-175,misc leftover parts $50-75. so at the top end prices you have $825,at the low end you have $660, so the parts are worth more then the asking price. These are for a 3 screw Blackhawk in .45 colt.of course condition plays a lot in these prices but most of the parts can be made better with a good restoration.they didn't make a lot of the .45 Blackhawks so prices will continue to rise
CraigC Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 This is why it's so aggravating that folks call the original large frame Vaquero "old model". Because Ruger's designation for pre 1973 single actions is "Old Model" and post 1973 single actions with the transfer bar action are "New Models". Of which the Vaquero is one. If it's an Old Model Blackhawk .45, they are scarcer than the .44 flat-tops, as they were only made for two years. Typically, a clean shooter grade will go for about $600, with nicer to mint examples as much as double that. With the finish "work" done to it, it would really only be suitable as a project gun and worth much less than the asking price. Personally, I don't think you're going to get $600-$800 parting one out in 70% condition.
