Irish Tom
I am having trouble finding a comfortable pair of boots. I am looking for the tall stove pipe boots, with a 1" walking heel. Most of the boots of this type have the taller riding heel. I have considered the Cavalry boot, as it does have the shorter heel, but only comes in black. Any suggestions ? Thanks. Irish Tom
They are nice boots, but heel is too tall. Uncomfortable for me to walk in.
John Boy
... but heel is too tall. Uncomfortable for me to walk in. Come On Tom, no big deal... just take them to a shoe shop and have them re-heeled You know where Republic Rd is? http://tomsshoerepair.com/contact-toms-shoe-repair-springfield-mo.html
Irish Tom
Come On Tom, no big deal... just take them to a shoe shop and have them re-heeled You know where Republic Rd is? http://tomsshoerepair.com/contact-toms-shoe-repair-springfield-mo.html John, I appreciate the advice, but it's not that simple. I am actually very familiar with the owner of the shoe repair shop you mentioned. As he explained it, simply replacing the heel with a shorter one would effect the balance of the boot. Puting a shorter heel on a boot designed for a taller one would actually raise the front of the boot and throw off the balance.
Sagebrush Burns, SASS # 14226
You might check out Earthwalker Boots. They are wonderfully comfortable and he will make plain stovepipe style boots. They are expensive and a bit of wait time but well worth both.
