Does anyone know what happened to the Brimstonepistoleros web site?

It featured the Brimstone Gazette ,which I really enjoyed reading.

I think that it was run by Rowdy Yates. It's a great website.

This is the first mention of the site being down.

I will check in to it.

I am the one who built and maintains the site since the beginning.

I have been doing the research for articles with an occasional article being submitted.

I really like when those come in.

Glad you like the Gazette.

I get no feed back at all on the Gazette.

For the past couple of years I have considered ending it.

I guess I will continue.

thanks.

Cliff, sounds like me and the Robbers Roost Vigilantes newsletter. I've been the editor for almost ten years. I'm currently working on Volume 18 #8, and every month I think about not doing it and seeing if anyone notices. :)

The person I need to contact has not yet responded.

He has a very busy schedule and I can not remember if he was to be out of town this weekend.

This has happened in the past on other issues.

Once contact is made it takes about a day to fix it.

This may be as simple as the yearly server payment is due.

I do not have control of that.

Nasty Newt and I (as do many others) do this because we like doing it.

It sure isn't for the money. $0.00

It is nice when a message is received confirming someone is actually reading what is posted and a party some times breaks out if someone submits an article to use.

I think I need to start thinking about a mirror site on a different server.

This would make two identical sites so if one goes down the other can be accessed.

I need to look in to how much server space I have available to me.

I may setup an archive site for the Brimstone Gazette.

I really don't want to see all that information just disappear.

Some of it is useful.

I will continue to watch this thread and post updates as I know what is to happen.

====================

Thanks, John Boy.

Input is always appreciated.

Not getting out and about as much as I used to I use the internet to check web pages of clubs I have friends at to check scores and read any news available. Had computer issues for about 2 months now, just got Windows 10 up and running and your post reminded me to go to the various websites to save them in favorites, thanks! :)

edit for Cliff, the Brimstone Pistoleros and Gazette links in John Boys links open fine for me.

Back for an update.

Brimstone Pistoleros is back up.

I still have a couple of other sites that are not up yet.

The host tech will get to them.

I didn't think to check the other sites, so I did not include them in the original help message I sent.

Update:

This week I have rebuilt the Brimstone Pistoleros newsletter pages.

The Brimstone Gazette.

While at it, I built a new Mirror site on a different host server.

Brimstone Gazette Mirror site.

Now if I only remember to update both sites.

There was a lot of file transferring up and down.

So mush that I actually over heated a flash drive and destroyed it.

Not only do I have back ups, I did a complete download of the Brimstone site, again.

Anyway.

All is well and thanks for bring my attention to the site having gone down.
