Hoss 1,170
Just picked up a Buffalo Classic in 45-70. Has the Smith Ladder sight. I've read a lot about them, mostly good reviews. Will shoot a little long range, mostly 1-200 yds, a couple of matches out to 400 maybe 500 yards. Any favorite loads? Anything to avoid? I'll mostly shoot lower powered stuff, but just curious, are these rifles safe for hotter loads, or should I stick to the trapdoor loads? And yes, I will be shooting some BP or subs as well. Blackey Cole 83
If it is like the 38-55 version you will need to see what it like the best. Ea barrel shoots different each manufactor has its own specs for the 38-55 I understand the 45-70 is a bit more standardized.
