Charlie Bison
Want to buy 50-70 Sharps or Springfield. Anyone?
Tom Bullweed
There were probably more Remington rolling blocks made in .50-70 than any other action. I see these quite often. Not sure about a .50-70 Sharps. Many original Sharps were chambered in .50-90. Good luck.
cowrustler
Most all the Sharps carbines used in the War Between the States were converted to 50-70 thereafter so there are lots of them around if you want an original. New York State rolling blocks are cheaper and good shooters as well. The .50-70 is a fun caliber to shoot- the gongs on my range here have suffered mightily from those old-timers. Yellowhouse Sam # 25171
It was the second most popular caliber in the 1874 until the Bridgeport era beginning in 1876. Number one was the 44-77.
