And that's with a full-size butt and all the weight of an entire rifle. Reduce the butt's footprint from five inches high to two, and lose two pounds of weight. Nope. Not me. Sparky Nelson Posted February 20, 2016 Share Posted February 20, 2016 If somebody has actually shot the Mosin-Nagant half of that thing, his eyeball is probably embedded in the eyepiece of the scope. With that shortened stock that scope is mounted too darned close. I shoot a PSL with a full length stock (for a Commie rifle) and a similar scope mounted at about the same position and it still punches me in the eye. I don't dare take the rubber bumper off.
