Rancho Roy
http://www.shootersworldsc.com/propellants I just saw this on the NSSF newsletter. They have a powder called "Cowboy" that has the same burn rate as Accurate 5744, which I understand is being discontinued. Not sure what size order you'd need to place as it appears they sell to reloaders with FFL Class 6 licence.

Reuben McCoy Rankin # 34239
Accurate 5744, which I understand is being discontinued. Where did you hear this? Hope it's not true.

Garrison Joe, SASS #60708
Shooter's World Powder has been available for several months now. 5744 is a fast rifle powder, suitable for cast bullet loads. Why a similar powder from Shooter's World would be called Cowboy stretches the imagination. Buffalo Hunter would be a more appropriate name. Good luck, GJ BTW - just bought 8# of 5744 - Gamaliel's has it at less than $30 a pound, and in stock. For a powder that some folks claim is going away, Accurate is sure making it available and talking it up. I think this is just an ill-founded rumor. Why would someone deep six one of the best cast-bullet and .45-70 powders going? Ah, well, but IMR (Hodgdon) just did on (SR)4759, didn't they?
