Hello everyone,

 

Mae and I were entering registrations last night and interestingly enough we are exactly even with our numbers from last year on this date. I just wanted to extend an invitation to any of you who have not shot Land Run in the past to come shoot with us and to thank all of you who have shot with us for so many years. When we celebrated Land Run's twentieth anniversary a few years ago, we had about a dozen shooters who had attended every Land Run.

I'll be there.....funny story, My wife isn't into shooting much and definitely not into CAS but in her defense, she met and married me when I was racing wheeled vehicles for fun. In any case, she bet dad and I that if the Royals win the World Series, she would attend and participate at Land Run 2016......so yes....I have to see this bet through even though I would be there anyway. One of if not the best clubs in the southwest region always with well run and fun events. Thanks in advance Territorial Marshals!

The weather should be great. You'll have a great time. For those who have not attended, our banquet is at The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum ( National Cowboy Hall of Fame). The museum alone is worth the trip.

Hello All,

 

We are on track to have about the same number of shooters as last year (approximately 300) and have several excellent vendors signed up and I ordered the guns for the shooter drawing and raffle this week. I also submitted to our award maker the preliminary count of plaques needed. I won't be able to make the final order until later since we award up to TEN PLACES in some of the larger categories. We base our number of awards on the number of entries per category, with at least three places if we have three in the category. We will have awards for every category shown on the application. We don't exclude categories based a minimum number of shooters.

Mae and I entered applications again last night. If you have mailed your application and have not received a confirmation, please notify me. Land run 2016 should be a great match again this year. We will probably post a shooter's list next week and then update every week until April 1st. We still have RV spots with power and water available but they are always in short supply, so please reserve your space as soon as possible. If you want to attend and camp and need to pay later, please send your application with a note telling us that you will pay before the match or send me a post dated check with a note telling me when to deposit. I think we have 15 states represented to date. We have only two months until the match.

At this time, it doesn't appear that it will be necessary. Shooting one flight enables us to shoot Twelve Stages and still have time to double check scores and make it to our great banquet at The National Cowboy Hall of Fame and allow people to get the museum early enough to walk through the it.
