H. K. Uriah, SASS #74619
Okay, the modern replicas of the LeMat revolver come in .44 caliber cap and ball and (as I understand it) about 20 gauge shotgun barrel. But, I have read that, back in the day, there was also a smaller one in .36 caliber cap and ball and that the shotgun barrel was whatever gauge .50 caliber would equate to. So far as I know, no one is making a reproduction of the smaller version of the LeMat. I wish they would for the following reasons... This would make a fantastic cartridge conversion in .38 S&W for the pistol barrel. And then, you could rifle the shotgun barrel and chamber it for the .56-50 Spencer cartridge! Now that would be fun. Loaded up with black powder cartridges... boom... boom... boom... boom... BOOOMM!!!! Hey, a man can dream, can't he?
