Johnny Loco Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 I watched the movie last night on the internet at Pubfilm The movie was long Had a make the white man feel bad racial overtone The bear attack was the best scene and brutal Weird, like Tommy Lee Jones "Homesman" and Kurt Russell "Bone Tomahawk" Not a real bad movie like "The Ridiculous 6" I know y'all will watch it just as I did. I'm glad it were free but I can't get compensated for my time.
backshootin beauford mcgee Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 I downloaded it. Have not watched it yet. DeCaprio as a tough guy seems like miscasting to me. We will see.
Cat Brules Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 Try watching Sr. DiCaprio as a CIA operative in Jordan, etc. The movie is "Body of Lies." Not too bad
Utah Bob #35998 Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 I downloaded it. Have not watched it yet. DeCaprio as a tough guy seems like miscasting to me. We will see. Some would say Audie Murphy is miscast as a tough guy. Appearances can deceive.
Johnny Loco Posted December 22, 2015 Author Posted December 22, 2015 His throat was ripped out, I think he spoke three lines the whole movie.
Nasty Newt # 7365 Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 Some would say Audie Murphy is miscast as a tough guy. Appearances can deceive. He made believers out of a bunch of German extras.
Utah Bob #35998 Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 His throat was ripped out, I think he spoke three lines the whole movie. Well, thanks for the spoiler.
Dutch Coroner Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 Some would say Audie Murphy is miscast as a tough guy. Appearances can deceive. Wow, isn't that the absolute truth.
SGT. QUINCANNON, SASS #32999 Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 Well, thanks for the spoiler. yeah...
Johnny Loco Posted December 22, 2015 Author Posted December 22, 2015 No spoiler, ain't it based on truth as hollywood sees it?
The O'Meara Himself Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 DiCaprio is a really good actor, and as far as tough guys go, you need to see Blood Diamond. The O'Meara Himself
Dantankerous Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 I heard Jesse James gets killed at the end of the movie The Assassination of Jesse James... any truth to this?
backshootin beauford mcgee Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 Watched it today. Looks like a modern remake of "Man in the Wilderness" with Richard Harris. As I thought De Caprio is not too convincing as Hugh Glass. He had a 2 shot flintlock pistol too, obviously a Hollywood Goof. He was better in Blood Diamond. But the scenery was nice and the Bear mauling pretty realistic.
Widder, SASS #59054 Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 I watched MOST of "BETRAYED" this weekend with John Wayne as a Lawyer. It was not a western but it was a good, interesting movie. I only got to watch the first half of it because The Bunkhouse Boss already had plans for us to get out and do some Christmas shopping. But I plan to find it again and finish watching it. ..........Widder
Johnny Loco Posted December 23, 2015 Author Posted December 23, 2015 What!! Christmas shopping in December? No!
Buffalo Creek Law Dog Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 Wow, isn't that the absolute truth. Especially at first, when they didn't want him for the part of playing himself in the movie, To Hell and Back, because he didn't look the part.
Irish Tom Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 I heard Jesse James gets killed at the end of the movie The Assassination of Jesse James... any truth to this? Not true. He moved to Texas and lived a quiet life as a small rancher. At least that's what some people claim. Irish Tom.
Knuckles Bandera #43963 Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 I've been waiting months for this....hope its not too painful to watch.

Not true. He moved to Texas and lived a quiet life as a small rancher. At least that's what some people claim. Irish Tom. Changed his name to Brushy Bob...!
Hurricane Deck 100366 Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 I enjoyed the costuming and effects, the story was quite interesting in how they weave the recovery of Powaqa into the ultimate redemption of Glass. The scenes where the Arikara Indians are dealing with the French were interesting to me.
Colt B.A. Blastn Johnson Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 I watched the movie last night on the internet at Pubfilm The movie was long Had a make the white man feel bad racial overtone The bear attack was the best scene and brutal Weird, like Tommy Lee Jones "Homesman" and Kurt Russell "Bone Tomahawk" Not a real bad movie like "The Ridiculous 6" I know y'all will watch it just as I did. I'm glad it were free but I can't get compensated for my time. The rediculous 6 movie was in poor taste, but it had rediculous in the name for sake! (dont wnna step on any toe"s)....Anyway even thou it was immature and potty/fart joke humor, I just kept thinking of how much fun they must of had filming the movie!
Noz Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Changed his name to Brushy Bob...! I thought he moved to Wichita.

Boon Doggle Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Wouldn't that be a "Howdah" pistol? Or as some southern boys might say, "Hoedown".
Lost Trail Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 I have not seen it yet but from what I've heard, my wife and I think it sounds rather like "Man in the Wilderness" starring Richard Harris from 1971.
Keystone, SASS # 47578 Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Well, Saw the movie tonight & thought Leonardo De Caprio was excellent. The movie is not a fairy tale feel good movie and not suitable for young children and the faint of heart. The scenery & action scenes were terrific. Definitely worth the time. The 2-1/2 hours passed very quickly. The sound in the RPEX theater was crystal clear although with some moderate hearing loss some dialogue was lost. Yes, it is similar to the Man in the Wilderness but with improved realism and special sound & visual effects. Hasta Luego, Keystone
Yul Lose Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 I thought that Mrs. Lose was done with westerns after the Hateful 8 but this evening she told me that she wants to see The Revenant. Just when I thought I had her figured out I gotta start all over.
Smoken D Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Wife and I saw it yesterday. Great movie, thou the wife said she would not go out into the woods anymore. Very intense, may not be sutiable for women and woosie's.
Bama Red Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 I thought that Mrs. Lose was done with my westerns after the Hateful 8 but this evening she told me that she wants to see The Revenant. Just when I thought I had her figured out I gotta start all over. They plan it that way, Yul! Part of their master plan to take over the world!

Smoken D Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 They plan it that way, Yul! Part of their master plan to take over the world! They already have
Cofachique Dick Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 The flintlock pistol kinda ruined it for me. By my count he fired it four times in a row with no powder or ball to be seen. Takes you out of the movie when stuff like that happens. Several of the rifles used the same way. Never saw anyone pull a ramrod or prime a pan the whole movie.
