Use of rimless cases in main match pistols

Yes...in all categories except CLASSIC COWBOY/COWGIRL which require RIMMED cases...and Frontiersman, of course.

Ruger made convertible/combo SA revolvers for most of the more common rimless rounds (e.g. 9mm, .45acp, .40S&W) so they fulfill the requirement as "commonly available revolver" cartridges.
The WW2 .45acp DA revolvers are also mentioned in reference to the legality of rimless rounds in SASS competition (not the revolvers, but the round itself).

There is a "smoke standard" for BP cartridges. If you can get 1 cc of real BP or a sub in the case your load will be legal. Slightly smaller amounts of APP can satisfy the smoke standard.

Place the word "CLASSIC" in front of the quoted red-text, and it will match the rule book. "Regular" Cowboy/Girl category has no restrictions about rims on cartridges. :)

Good luck, GJ

I always thought it was too bad that the .45 ACP cylinders for the Colt SAA were not made so that you could use .45 Autorim in them. :)

You could have the cylinder faced down to use 45 Auto Rim.

PS, I found out that you can take a Dillon 550 45 Colt shell plate and turn it upside down and it will load 45 AR just fine.
