Chili Ron
Howdy, Once upon a time Illinois had no real conceal carry for 'just taxpayers'. That's how most politicos think of people. Our main purpose to them is PAY TAXES. One day the Supreme Court of the land of the Free ruled that Illinois HAD to allow conceal carry and could pass some rules OR have the already carried FOID card automatically become a conceal carry permit. Conceal carry was passed and I happened to be in a gunshop when the first permits were allowed to be applied for. I watched as dozens of folks stood in line quietly waiting to be photoed and printed. These were not gangsters and hoods. These were everyday folks who could have been in line for Aunt Shirleys potato salad at a family reunion. A few wore hats and jackets with military patches. A very few wore NRA logos. One person every three or four minutes. And the line never got shorter. I left a few hours later. Still a line out the door. A few days ago some gangster with a long rap sheet held up a corner store. He pulled a gun and demanded whatever. A fella with a gun shot the gangster dead. Conceal carry in action. The gangsters family said the citizen shouldn't have shot him so many times. Yes pards its true: Most criminals prefer unarmed victims. Best CR Link to comment
Bugs Bonney SASS # 10171
I'd be all for it if the people that voted for the bill were the ones that had to go get the guns. Once outside Madison and Milwaukee they might start to reconsider their position because that position would be somewhat unpopular with a segment of the population who would be, shall we say, "Reluctant" to comply.
