Charlie T Waite
Just got a rare Shadow Gray Satin finish Taurus 450SH2C. This is a 2" ported Bbl 45LC. Since the Judge-style of guns has captured the public’s infatuation, the older line has been discounted and are highly sought after. Now I had to stop at the range as any cowboy would to try it out. The 450 was designed just to shoot the .45 Long Colt. At the range I made shots from ten yards. The 450 held 1.5 - 2.3 inch groups with all cartridges. The most accurate rounds seemed to be the Winchester XPD1 225 grain with a 1.5 inch group, next was the Winchester Silvertip 225 grain which made a 1.75 inch group, followed by the Hornady Critical Defense 185 grain cartridges with a 2.3 inch group. All 3 are hot loads and give considerable recoil, but it was by no means unmanageable. All in all a great gun that I have been wanting for a long while.
