Subdeacon Joe Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 Has anyone else noticed a surge in the popularity of them? They seem to be the new food fad, the new Mac & Cheese.Take a gander at some of the recipes here: http://www.grilledcheeseacademy.com/recipe Some are weird, but quite a few are making me go "Hmmm.....that sounds good!"

G. I. Tarpicker, SASS #998 Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 Some of those DO look good. I think I put on ten pounds just looking at them. -- GIT
Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172 Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 Being Old School, medium cheddar with whole grain bread grilled in hot oil with a cuppa tomato soup by. But dang it, Joe. Not you got me distracted from the chili lunch and thunking on grilled cheese.
Smoken D Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 That's funny. The wife and I were just talking about what's for dinner, and we decided on grilled cheese tonight. This was before I got on the wire.
Cat Brules Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 My idea of grilled cheese sandwich is a Croque Monseur with a Southwestern twist. Arguably the best sandwich ever. Buttered Bread, cheese, sliced ham (cheese against the bread), sealed in an iron, on the gas stovetop, ~2 1/2 minutes on each side (each stove is different). Add Hatch long green chile for the Southwestern flavor. Strictly grilled cheese? Don't add the other stuff. You really need a Croque Monseur iron to do it, though....can probably find'em on eBay.
rippin kid Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 I saw one made on the warming plate of a coffee maker. worked very well
