Noz Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Does anyone know of the reason behind the .32 cents rise in gas in the last 3 days?
Dusty Morningwood Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 I realize there are all kinds of market fluctuations that affect prices, but Chickasaw Bill hit the nail on the head. We keep being played for chumps by the oil and gas industry. We had all of this Drill, Baby, Drill madness that was supposed to free us from the clutches of foreign oil and gas. But it turned into, Swill, Baby, Swill with not only Americans buying more gas guzzlers to go to the mall in, but also a glut of production that has our Congress Critters clambering to pay off their owners by wanting to lift the ban on exporting crude. By getting rid of this inconvenient surplus, we can once again get in a crunch, with demands to bring dirty Canadian tar sands sludge via the stalled, and rightfully so, Keystone pipeline to be refined and...shipped overseas. I live in a refinery town and they are all for this, but why, with a glut of domestic production? I say let the Canadians refine their own dirty oil and we keep our oil here for Americans to use. The refineries will do just fine keeping up with domestic production for domestic consumption. Just my two cents worth.
Edward R S Canby, SASS#59971 Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 I am not seeing a rise in my local market. Prices are just above $2/gallon.
Dusty Morningwood Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 We went from $1.79 to $1.99 overnight.
Tom Bullweed Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 No rise here, still $2.05 to $2.20. Many state and local laws take play in May and October. Check your local gas tax laws. They m7ght have just changed. Most gas tax is based on a percentage of sales price. The price have been low enough, for long enough, that you local friendly govmint might have raised the min tax rate.
Sedalia Dave Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Did that here in East TX a couple weeks ago. Went from $1.79 to $2.15 in 3 days. Back down to $1.84 a week later.
Shorty Jack Hammer Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Went from $2.39 to $2.33 at my station
Smoken D Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Same here Noz, $1.89 to $2.25 as CB said ----- Greed & they can get away with it.
Four-Eyed Buck,SASS #14795 Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 $2.49 here today. Supposedly, refineries are doing maintenance and are off line in this area of the country
Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172 Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 $2.49 here today. Supposedly, refineries are doing maintenance and are off line in this area of the country You believe that one Buck, and you can buy this nice bridge that I have for sale. I am in agreement with Chickasaw Bill, and they know that we are held hostage by their actions. We here in Washington Territory have an additional burden. Our Governor is a greenie beanie and believes that all mechanical devices that use energy to convey people should be taxed until they die. Therefore we have gas that us usually higher than most of the other states. But because it is higher in price, it MUST BE BETTER QUALITY, right? OH TIME FOR MY MEDS AGAIN.
