Kirk James
When does the Posse Marshal have the authority to over rule the RO and the spotters? What is the proper procedure when they disagree?
Smokestack SASS#87384
The chief RO is the person holding the timer. His call can not be overruled by a posse marshal. he may be overruled by the range master or protest committee if there is a disputed call. The spotters can only call misses and can not be overruled by anyone. Procedurals and safety violations are to be called by the chief range officer, (TO). PaleWolf Brunelle, #2495L
The PM has NO AUTHORITY to "overrule" anyone...particularly the spotters in regard to misses. If they are negligent or lax in their duties, they should be replaced. If the T/O is suspected of misapplying the rules/penalties (or failure to "do the right thing") & the issue can't be resolved on the the stage, the PM's "job" is to summon a Range Master to adjudicate the situation.
