Buffalo Dick, SASS #12880 Posted September 29, 2015 Share Posted September 29, 2015 I received a call from Sonny's wife yesterday, he died unexpectedly last Saturday following routine surgery. I've known Sonny more than twenty years, we met when we both were shooting with a small, non-affiliated club in Ohio known as the Indian Creek Regulators. ICR was purely a black powder CAS club and many of the members were also active in period camping, old west reenactments etc. Sonny and I were two of the ICR members who ultimately went "mainstream" joining SASS. Sonny's full alias was "Pinewood Sonny Wakefield" and he shot Cattle Baron. I never saw him without a smile on his face.
