Trailrider #896
I can't recall the exact quote, but it goes something like, "Greater love (for one's country) has no man (or woman) that they are ready to lay down their lives for their fellow men/women!" Heros come in all forms. Whether it is the passengers aboard Flight 93, who knew the outcome, but said "Let's roll!" or the three on the train in France, who reacted almost instantly to a potentially very bad situation. But, IMHO, it takes a special kind of cool to know you have a few minutes to think about what you are going to try to do, and the likelihood of doing it and coming out alive, and...PRESS ON! A heartfelt salute to Ms. Penney and her commander, and all who go in harm's way in our defense!
DocWard
I remember reading that some time back, and just thinking "Wow." I read it again and had the same response.

Some may understand, maybe not, but when I was wearing my uniform, I hoped I had that kind of courage.
Subdeacon Joe
Some may understand, maybe not, but when I was wearing my uniform, I hoped I had that kind of courage. I do understand. Every now and then I wonder if it came down to the test if I would pass.
