Another What's the Call?

Round count = 10 pistol, 10 rifle, 4+ shotgun. Stage directions: Start with shotgun at Port Arms at first position. Engage targets until down. Make shotgun safe, move to next position and retrieve the rifle. Engage the rifle targets in a 3-2-2-3 Sweep from either direction. Make rifle safe, move to the last position and engage the pistol targets in a 3-2-2-3 Sweep from either direction.

The shooter starts at the first position and knocks down the four shotgun targets, makes the shotgun safe, moves to the second position and correctly hits all targets from left to right. The rifle is made safe and the shooter moves to the last position. The first pistol is drawn and the first two targets are hit correctly. The shooter then puts the first pistol on the table in front of him and draws his second pistol. The next two targets are hit correctly. The shooter is given his time, picks up the pistol off the table and holsters it along with his second pistol.

The directions said nothing about placing a pistol on the table. Is this a 10 second penalty or is it a no call?

Shooters Handbook page 20

Minor safety infractions occurring during a course of fire that do not directly endanger persons result in a ten second penalty being added to the shooter’s time per occurrence for that stage.“Minor” safety infractions are occurrences such as failure to open a long gun’s action at the conclusion of a shooting string or failure to return a handgun to its holster at the conclusion of a shooting string.

Revolvers are returned to leather after the shooting string.
Page 23
Revolvers are returned to leather (re-holstered) with hammer down on a spent case or empty chamber at the conclusion of the shooting string, unless the stage description specifically directs otherwise (e.g., “move to next position and set gun on table or prop”). A shooting string is defined as shots from one type of firearm prior to the next type of firearm engaged.

The shooter holstered at the end of the shooting string - No call

No Call revolvers were returned to holster after shooting string. I like it when the pistols are shot last and there is a table to lay them on.
