evil dogooder
Helped at a shooters round up this weekend shot lots of blanks had a blast died four times. Anyway the blanks i was given to use was a mixture of app and real black. Will warm water and dish soap work to get rid of the grime in my guns? Any ingredient in dishsoap i should not be using? Billy the Avenger
The dawn soap makes my hands nice and smooth lol The soap cuts the oil Just in case the oil is mixed with BP I feel it help insure the whole gun is clean Billy the Avenger
Nickel City Dude
I have used water & Simple Green for 20 years on all my black powder guns. It works great on the ones I shoot bullet out of and the ones I use for blanks.

Garrison Joe, SASS #60708
Next year I'm only using one gun and reloading. Seven pistols is too much And you will probably find you jam up guns because the blanks leave so much fouling, especially on the face of cylinder. That will mean keeping a bucket of water and a rag around, and every once in a while, popping out the cylinder and washing it in the bucket, wiping off cylinder face. Unless you have already opened the gap between cylinder and barrel to about 0.008" - then you might go all day with those types of blanks. Good luck, GJ
Trailboss (Santa) Dave
I shoot a lot of blanks, never had a problem with hot water and Dawn. I have also used Windex with Vinegar, it does a good job as well
