Abilene, SASS # 27489
Nice! Has the '97 been refinished? Sure is shiny! The SAA, unless it is a trick of the light, appears to be the old style frame, which would make it at least ten years older than 1907?? I know the 1896 changeover date was not exact, but still? Don't have a pic of them together, but I shoot my 1901 .45 SAA regularly, and once a year team it up with my brother's 1915 32-20 SAA. Three clean matches with that pair. El Mulo Vaquero, SASS #55942
They are all in their birthday suits. All original finishes. The cameral flash kinda makes the 97 look shiny, and the Colt look weird. The Colt is nice, Colt letter says shipped in 1907 to Charles Hummel and Sons, San Antonio TX. Even the Marlin 45-90 for a black powder era/cartridge gun has a perfect bore. A lot of fun.

El Mulo Vaquero, SASS #55942
That's a good one Rex, O Bar has moved to Florida about 3-4 years ago. Calkins still takes his old guns to OL GEEZERS in Raton every year. He's still splittin cards with his old Colts. Keep shootin them 44's!
