Sedalia Dave Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 My Uncle worked for the AF. During the summer we spent a lot of time at their Cabin in SE Missouri. On the weekends he would bring home a list of satellites including Salyut and SKyLab that would pass overhead and the times they were visible. Us kids would try and be the first one to spot them as they passed overhead. We were usually fishing down at the river and occasionally catching fish and spotting satellites got in the way of each other.
DocWard Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 My daughter has an app on both her iphone and ipad that you can take outside, and point it in a direction to see what stars you're looking at. It will also tell you what satellites there are and when they are supposed to pass, and even some of the space junk.
