Noah Cash
My better half has a Rem Rolling block in 40-70 SS with a trigger pull that is absolutely horrendous! There are 5 or 6 different models that have been built over the years, and I think this is the 5th Model, but what do I look for to be sure? My understanding is that these things are a bit unique and its best to have someone who is familiar with them do a trigger job, Are they that difficult?? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated Thanks KB
Cheatin Charlie
The biggest thing you can do is have a gunsmith change the trigger spring for a lighter one. I made mine out of piano wire or you can buy one here http://www.rollingblockparts.com/no-1.html Do not touch the sear or trigger until you do this. On my 3 this is all I needed to do. You can change the spring yourself it is that easy. Charlie

John Boy
KB, you would be best to call Bill Wescombe first. You posted the caliber is a 40-70 SS and original #1 & #5 Rolling Blocks were not chambered for this caliber only ... 12.17x42 mm rimfire, 12.17x44 mm rimfire and 12.17x44 mm rimmed centerfire Swedish and Norwegian cartridges, .43 Spanish (11.15x58mmR), .50-70, .45-70, and later in .22 caliber. Later models were produced in .30-06 Springfield, 7×57mm Mauser, and 8×50mmR Lebel.
