Hardpan Curmudgeon SASS #8967
Reminds me of Jacques Cousteau's ship, Alcyone. When she visited San Francisco back in the 80's, I stared at her a loooong time one afternoon, trying to figure out "what the heck makes that thing go!" Actually got to meet Mr Cousteau - I'd heard of a press conference at San Francisco State University, and sorta wandered on in to the room where it was to be held and stayed for it. Only a handful of people showed up, and it was a very cool experience. Mind you, I wouldn't have voted for him for President, but he was pretty impressive. In his mid-70's at that time, he was still quite lively, and his English was excellent.
