The Original Lumpy Gritz
Why would the internal parts not interchange? Ask Ruger Just look at the exploded views of both, and you see the different P/N's. I do know for fact the t'bar is not the same..... OLG

Abe E.S. Corpus SASS #87667
Don't forget the two gun hard case (that I don't use) and the little cartoon SASS Marshal emblems on the grips (which tend to fall off). Not knocking the SASS Edition revolvers; I've been shooting them for five years.
John Barleycorn, SASS #76982
They would have sold a lot more if they also made the 357s in 5 1/2". I had to buy a standard pair and put SBH hammers on them.

Straight Arrow Hombre
Why don't they offer the NMV in 44/40 or 44 Special? There was a special run of 44 special NMVs
El Hombre Sin Nombre
Why don't they offer the NMV in 44/40 or 44 Special?I'd like a set in 44/40 as well. Didn't Ruger use the same barrels for 44/40 and 44 special in the original vaqueros?
Warden Callaway
Assuming you could find 44 Special NMV, is it possible to get a spare cylinders and have them fitted and chambered for 44/40?
Phiren Smoke GUNFIGHTER
When the NRVs first came out the word was the rim on the 44-40 round was just enough bigger than 45lc that it could not be chambered with out interfering with the cylinder ratchet. I would think there would be room, with modification, since NRV cylinders are slightly larger diameter than Colts or clones. Since their introduction there was a special run of 44 sp, but there have been no 44-40s or 38-40s. Hope this helps, Smoke
The Original Lumpy Gritz
FWIW-The SASS/CAS market isn't 'diddly-squat', I'm sorry to say. It's all about the 'black gunz', these dayz--- OLG
