Marlin Buckhorn,SASS 51727
Well let us figure out Dirt Merchants pricing. If you can find a Marlin Cowboy Comp for sale it will be at least $1000.00. The only person doing the "Spur Short Stroke" is Cowboy Carty. The last I knew he charges $450.00 plus shipping. And you will wait a year plus to get it done. So if you find a Marlin Cowboy Comp., Rifle $1000.00 Spur Short Stroke $450.00 Shipping to & from Carty $60.00 _________ Total $1510.00 Looks like you would save yourself $60.00 buying Dirt's rifle and be able to start shooting it in less than 2 weeks. Plus you are buying a collectors Marlin that is no longer being made. Is it worth it? Glad I don't have to decide. I shoot a 24" Marlin with a Spur Short Stroke done by Spur before he retired. As Big Jake would say, "Just saying," Marlin
