Hopalong Mac McLin
Does anyone know where to purchase a red, white, blue scarf the Duke wore in Hondo? Not interested in paying $100.00.
Fillmore Coffins, SASS #7884
Nope. My girls got me one online and it's a dead ringer. There are no others. It's a good one tho. You might find one that kinda looks like one after years of shopping thrift stores. Here's mine... https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=4105144868955&set=pb.1293011190.-2207520000.1432696680.&type=3&theater Fillmore

Kansas City Jack #9243
Interesting fact about "Hondo" it was originally shot in 3-D, and the mean dog was one of the Lassies. The "Duke" won Lassies from the trainer Weatherwax in a poker game the last week of the shoot and would sit on the side lines saying bring me my dog. He did give Lassie back after they wrapped. I looked for years so I could complete my Hondo look for wearing at the John Wayne Birthplace. I know it's high dollar but it's worth it to me and it seems to be high quality. Here is his Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Two-Rode-Together-Wardrobe-Co/499474316736989?fref=ts Here is e-bay. http://www.ebay.com/sch/leandog220/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from= I found him very nice to deal with and a real fan of Hondo and westerns. The western he wrote West To Bravo is a good read also!!! I also got the hat cord from him.

Hopalong Mac McLin
ONe of the scarves is a Hondo scarf and the other is from another movie, The Searchers, I think. They are labeled but I had the same question.

Hopalong Mac McLin
Also notice that the hat changes shapes during the filming of HOndo. The one above is different than the turned up front most often used. I think the shape is changed 3 times during the movie.
Kid Shane, SASS #40660
I think Luster Bayless has the original Hondo scarf. He did all of the Duke's costumes for years. He is retired now and mostly at his place in Mississippi. Luster has a lot of the Dukes' movie costumes.
