I need suggestions on nice timer that will not break the bank and where I can find one at a reasonable price. Suggestion?

On occasion, a local club will sell you a good used one because they want to upgrade and buy NEW timers.

And sometimes, a local pard might want to sell his/her because they no longer use it. Check around your locals and you might find a great deal.

If you use a smart phone there are shooting timer apps. I have one on my iphone and it works great. The app was free.

I like and use Competition Electronics pocket pro (the old model with a big digit display) timers, because we use them for lots of the bigger matches. The older ones are SO easy to read and retrieve the split times from.

I don't find them discounted when purchased new. Might as well order from factory or Midway's website.

+10 Very good timer.

I have been watching for a good deal on a timer for over a year. If one is out there I couldn't find it. You might save $20.00 off the cost of a new one IF you are really really lucky. I have actually seen used ones on E-bay sell for more than a new one would on sale. For the difference I would buy a new one, that way if you have issues it has a warranty..

I would be reluctant to buy a used timer unless I was sure it was lightly used. Club timers at one club I shoot at (non SASS) see hard use and just last about three years. They get too much unnecessary harsh handling.

I think those timers are the easiest to use. I always have one in the gun cart.
