John Henry Quick
The SASS Virginia State Blackpowder Shootout, a.k.a. "Smoke on the Mattaponi" was held yesterday and I had a grand time. It was likely my best performance ever in my short CAS career (this is my third year), with one P and one miss. I got all the way through four stages thinking I might for once shoot a clean match, but then came the P in stage 5 and then the miss in stage 6 (clearly my guns are defective!). The stages were challenging and fun, the people were great, the lunch provided after shooting was great and the sponsorship made many things possible that would not have otherwise been included. Events like this do not just happen - a LOT of hard work went into this. I would like to thank the Mattaponi Sundowners and everyone who worked so hard to make this a memorable event! I look forward to next year with excitement! http://www.wpgc.us/west_point_gun_club/smoke.html
