Doc Fill 'Em 67797
I need some advice on disabling the automatic ejectors on a Baikal shotgun and converting it to extractors. Cusz M. Dutch SASS Life 55326
I took out the two springs and made a trip to the local hardware store. Found two almost the same and ground/ut on them to where they became extractors. take the but plate off and drill a hole in the stock for the old springs for storage. Cayuse Jack, SASS #19407
Make sure gun is unloaded. Remove the forend. Remove the screws that hold the metal attachments (hanger) to the forend. You will find a flat spring attached to the metal hanger that pushes on two levers. This spring is what powers the ejectors. The ejectors are the two levers. Remove the screw holding the spring. Remove the spring and replace screw. You also need to remove the two levers (the ejectors). The two levers are held in by a pin. Carefully use a small punch and remove the pin. The levers can now be removed. Replace the pin. Put the hanger assembly back on to the forend. Test for function.
