inexpensive Bore Scope Review.......

Lots of discussion on n the various forums about all the under $50 Bore Scopes available on Ebay and Amazon. I decided to buy a few and test them out to see if they were viable for gunsmithing and general firearm inspection. I wrote an article with loads of actual videos and posted it on my web site. I hope you enjoy it!

Howdy,

I once had a bore checked at a Varmint Hunters Convention.

The company that brought the scope was selling cleaning stuff.

My rifle was like new inside. The bore scope can show if a rifle is worth having.

After the convention I begged my club to buy a scope. Nothing doing.

I figured if we charged $2 a barrel we would break even in a year.

I could have been talking to a wall.

$50 is sure a great idea.

Thanks.

Best

Will these cheaper borescopes look at the wall or face of the rifling? Do they only look straight through the bore? Dad has a Hawkeye, and you can rotate a knob and see the wall in 360 degrees. Nice to see if there's any fire cracking, pits, or carbon and copper fowling.

Yes, only straight ahead. The first one I reviewed came with a 45 degree mirror adapter, but it was useless in the small bores we are looking it.

You need a $700 Hawkeye to look at the walls of a bore.
